About The Position

School Nurse (37.5 hours/week - 200 days/year) 2025-2026 School Year Assignments and Locations to be determined The Montgomery County School Board in Virginia is now accepting applications for school nurse positions that may become available within our division for the 2025-2026 school year. Please note this is a "continuous recruit posting" to build an applicant pool for all schools. As positions become available, all qualified applicants with complete application files will be considered. Should a specific location/job be posted, you may also be required to apply to that posting. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: The School Nurse will assist the Lead Nurse in the organization, administration, and implementation of school health services and will function as a contributing member of the school health team

Requirements

• Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse or a licensed professional nurse in Virginia
• One year of nursing experience
• Current certification in CPR and First Aid
• Have effective written, verbal, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with parents and families
• Demonstrate the ability to work and collaborate with other team members
• Ability to be dependable and punctual

Nice To Haves

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BSN)
• Previous experience in public health or general nursing, preferably in school nursing or community health nursing with children

Responsibilities
