About The Position

The school nurse is responsible for carrying out the district's health program, as defined by district policies and the Missouri Department of Health regulations.

Requirements

Must hold a current/valid RN license

Nice To Haves

BSN preferred (from accredited Nursing School)
Pediatric nursing experience is preferred
Experience with children in a school setting is preferred

Responsibilities

Performs skilled nursing procedures as necessary in a safe, competent and efficient manner
Administers medications in a safe and therapeutic manner according to physicians’ orders and consistent with school policy and state laws and regulations
Maintains student health records as prescribed by school policy and state laws and regulations
Maintains strict confidentiality related to student and staff issues
Uses effective written, verbal and nonverbal communication skills
Collaborates with other school professionals, parents, and caregivers to meet the health, developmental and educational needs of students
Is professional, caring, flexible, and enjoys working with children and their families
Open to providing support to the Hudson Elementary School community
Complies with all WGSD Board policies and procedures
Is proactive, collaborative, and willing
Other duties as assigned
