About The Position
ATC Healthcare is urgently seeking dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurses for open School Nurse positions! The School Nurse provides nursing services to the student population in a variety of settings. The School Nurse works collaboratively with school staff, parents, and guardians to address the healthcare needs of students. This position functions under the supervision of the Chief School Nurse and/or the School Principal. Requirements
- Current and unencumbered NYS RN license
- Graduate of an accredited Diploma, Associate or Baccalaureate School of Nursing.
- At least one year experience as a nurse in the school setting.
- Current CPR
Responsibilities
- Complies with ATC policies/procedures.
- Complies with client facility nursing policies/procedures.
- Documents accurately and completely services provided.
- Maintains confidentiality relative to patient care and facility practices in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act and/or other applicable standards.
- Communicates information effectively to appropriate personnel.
- Safekeep medication needed to be taken by children; dispensing medications as per direction on prescription, tube feeding, and catheter care.
- Administer oxygen when needed, nebulizer treatments, ostomy care, and bronchial pumps.
- Prioritize and implement daily student care within the program utilizing nursing theory and knowledge of program function.
- Plan and implement staff education, as needed, on a variety of nursing and healthcare topics within the program, including seizure management, choking, and educating staff on anaphylaxis and allergies.
- Record keeping of student physical and medication orders updated yearly and when needed.
- Complete and document all first aid treatments and exposure to communicable diseases.
- Maintain nursing office and equipment; order and replenish office medical supplies.
- Adhere to specific program policies and procedures.
