About The Position

Leidos is seeking licensed behavioral health professionals for the Military and Family Life Counselor (MFLC) Child and Youth Behavioral team to support military families at Coupeville Elementary School on Whidbey Island, WA. This role involves providing non-medical counseling and support to military children and their families, addressing the unique challenges they face due to military life. The position operates on a school calendar and focuses on preventive counseling, consultation, and outreach to help youth and families navigate transitions and emotional challenges.

Requirements

  • A master's degree or higher in the Behavioral Health Professions (MS/MSW/MA/PhD).
  • Must hold a valid independent license in the mental health field from any US state or territory (Licensed Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist, Licensed Counselor, Psychologist).
  • Must be a U.S. citizen per government contract.
  • Must be able to pass a basic background check for employment, a Child National Agency Check, and Inquiries (NACI/CNACI) clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Work at school(s) populated by military youth and teens.
  • Observe, participate, and engage in activities with youth and/or teens; provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff and parents; and model behavior management techniques for staff and parents.
  • Offer presentations to address social skills development and social emotional learning that is crucial for youth and teenage development.
  • Promote creativity and positivity through approved materials.
  • Build rapport with parents and families by attending installation and community events.
  • Help with transition adjustments, such as a new school and a new home.
  • Participate in regular in-service training or other contract activities as assigned.
  • Communicate information regarding trends and issues at assigned installation to Team Leads.
