About The Position

The Academy for Advancement of Children with Autism is a dedicated institution committed to providing high-quality education and care for children with special needs. We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to join our multidisciplinary team. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) will provide essential health services and support to students with special needs, ensuring their well-being and safety during school hours. The LVN will work closely with educators and therapists to create a healthy and inclusive learning environment.

Requirements

• Valid Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) license in the state of CA
• Current CPR and First Aid certification
• Experience working with children, preferably in a school or pediatric setting
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
• Compassionate and patient demeanor
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers
• NG Tube/G:Tube maintenance
• Monitor and manage chronic health conditions (i.e. seizures)
• Provide first aid and emergency care as needed
• Conduct health assessments and screenings
• Develop and implement individualized healthcare plans (IHPs) for students
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation
• Collaborate with teachers and therapists to support the health and educational goals of students.
