About The Position

This position is primarily responsible for fulfilling the day to day activities required of the library by performing the following duties, personally. The Library Aide will maintain the library and all materials that are checked out to students and teachers on the campus. Hosts elementary school classes weekly to allow students to check out library books. Maintains the library catalog for the assigned campus. Hosts book fairs each year. This includes organizing volunteers and teachers during this time. Assists teachers with finding books that could be used in the classrooms. Assists with verifying new curriculum has been received and cataloged as appropriate. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers. Participates in in-service training programs as assigned. Alerts the regular teacher to any problem or special information about an individual student. May assist staff and students in use of educational computer programs. Manages textbook check out and in each year. Assesses fines and distributes late notices as needed. Performs other related duties as required by supervisor.
