About The Position

Under the direction of the assigned RN Supervisor, provides preventive health services to facilitate the student's optimal physical, mental, emotional and social growth and development. Provides care to medically involved students. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: following the individualized health care plans developed by the school RN, providing total physical care for the students, monitoring student health needs and maintaining a sanitary and safe environment, administration of physician ordered medication and treatments, ordering supplies for your assigned health office, completing daily and monthly records, attending student related meetings.

Requirements

• Graduate from an approved nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Licensed Vocational Nurse
• Three years' experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse
• Current license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of Maryland or a compact state with 'Compact' or 'Multi-State Privilege'
• Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation and First Aid required
• Ability to exercise professional judgment in making decisions
• Ability to appropriately and effectively communicate with students, parents, administrators and other school personnel
