About The Position

School Food and Nutrition Services (SFNS) Technician Part-time Positions (multiple locations) 2025-2026 POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for preparing food items. Operates kitchen equipment and follows safety and sanitation procedures to serve food.

Requirements

• An equivalent combination of education, training and experience will be considered
• Requires 0 to 2 years of job-related prior experience
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred

• Prefer more than 2 years

Responsibilities

• Prepares hot food including set-up, cooking and/or serving
• Assembles and serves cold food in correct portions
• Reads and follows recipes
• Operates kitchen equipment
• Checks and assures correct temperature of food, refrigerator and freezer
• Cleans and sanitizes kitchen facilities, equipment and dishes
• Stocks and dates food and supplies
• Sets up, maintains and breaks down food service lines
• Serves food to students and staff
• Stores and labels leftover food
• Maintains student meal accounts
• Basic math skills required
• Ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships
• Other duties may be assigned
