About The Position

Join Our Team as a School Custodian/Groundskeeper: Foster a Clean and Safe Learning Environment! Position available at our Oak Meadow Elementary School located in El Dorado Hills. Work hours are Monday through Friday - 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m./12 month position. We are Buckeye! Our school district is committed to providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. We recognize that the cleanliness and upkeep of our school grounds contribute significantly to the overall educational experience. We are currently seeking a dedicated and reliable School Custodian/Groundskeeper to join our team and help maintain the high standards of our school district. Position Overview The School Custodian/Groundskeeper plays a vital role in ensuring that school facilities and grounds are well-maintained, clean, and safe for the school community. This dual-role position involves performing routine custodial duties inside school buildings as well as groundskeeping tasks outside. Your efforts will help create a conducive learning environment for students and an inviting atmosphere for staff and visitors.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent
Previous experience in custodial or groundskeeping roles preferred
Knowledge of basic maintenance and repair techniques and tools
Ability to operate groundskeeping equipment such as lawnmowers
Strong attention to detail and proactive approach to maintenance tasks
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Physical stamina and ability to perform manual labor and outdoor work in various weather conditions
Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe school environment

Responsibilities

Perform daily cleaning and maintenance of school buildings and facilities
Ensure restrooms, classrooms, hallways, and common areas are sanitized and well-kept
Maintain school grounds, including mowing lawns and trimming bushes
Assist in setting up and tearing down for school events and activities
Inspect and report any safety hazards or maintenance needs to the facilities manager
Support in maintaining the inventory of cleaning and maintenance supplies
