About The Position

The City of Lawrence is seeking School Crossing Guards. These are part-time, temporary positions. Duties include responsible part-time work facilitating safe passage at school crossings. An employee in this class is responsible for directing children on foot and motor traffic at a street location where children cross when going to and from school. This crossing guard vacancy is expected to service Sunflower Elementary School.

Requirements

• In good physical condition with no loss of sight or hearing
• Able to stand for a long period of time in all weather conditions
• Ability to attend occasional staff meetings
• Ability to work independently and with little supervision
• Must be dependable and available to work until the end of the month of May 2026

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience working with children in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred

Benefits

• $100 annual bonus for perfect attendance
• $100 annual bonus if asked to return to the position the following school year
