School Crossing Guard
About The Position
Heber City Corporation is seeking Part-Time and Substitute School Crossing Guards. The normal working hours are approximately 8:15 am to 8:45 am and 3:20 pm to 4:00 pm on school days, with some variation on Mondays and other special days. Duties include activating the School Zone electronic sign, lifting and placing traffic cones, stopping traffic with a stop sign to signal motorists to wait, allowing students to cross safely, and maintaining a pleasant, courteous demeanor. Safeguard students' safety when crossing the street with a fun and rewarding crossing guard job. Successful applicants must be willing to submit to a pre-employment drug test and pass a standard criminal background check. Must be reliable and punctual, with the ability to report to the assigned crosswalk on time. Noise from traffic, students, and other pedestrians, as well as inclement weather, may occur. Must have the ability to stand and walk intermittently for at least 30 minutes at a time.
