About The Position

Excel Academy Charter High School is seeking a School Counselor who is responsible for assessing and providing school-based treatment for social-emotional concerns that interfere with the student’s ability to access and engage in the Excel curriculum.

Requirements

Must hold a master’s degree in social work or counseling
An LICSW, LCSW, or LSW (or working towards a licensure, requiring supervision hours) or hold a DESE license in school counseling or adjustment counseling
Minimum of 1 year experience in a school-based setting
A commitment to working with underserved, urban youth

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak Spanish preferred
Preference will be given to applicants who share points of intersection with our students, such as speaking Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, or a language commonly spoken by our students and families at an advanced level, being first generation college graduates, or having grown up low-income.
