About The Position

The School Counselor position promotes student success, provides preventive services, and responds to identified student needs by implementing a comprehensive developmental school counseling program that addresses academic, career, and personal/social development of high school grade students. The counselor develops and manages a comprehensive school counseling program for all students (PK-12th) and develops curriculum focusing on Personal/Social Domains. The role involves designing, delivering, evaluating, and revising a planned sequential developmentally appropriate program to meet the needs of all students. The counselor will counsel students to promote self-awareness, self-identity, and positive social and academic skills, and manage activities that establish, maintain, support, and enhance the total school counseling system. Additionally, the counselor plans and coordinates programs that extend the counseling program, such as Individual Education Plans, Child Study Team, red ribbon week, bullying awareness week, clothes closet, food pantry, social emotional learning, and coordinating with parents for Mental Health Services. The applicant must be willing to perform all job-related travel.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree in School Counseling.
  • State of Oklahoma Teacher's Certificate or qualifications to meet certification.
  • Certification in Counseling from the Oklahoma Department of Education.

Nice To Haves

  • Expressive and receptive sign language skills with fluency in American Sign Language.
  • Counseling experience.

  • Annual Salary Range for Bachelor's Degree: $40,821.00 - $57,269.00.
  • Annual Salary Range for Master's Degree: $42,211.00 - $59,191.00.
