About The Position

Bullhead City Elementary School District is seeking a highly qualified Junior High School Counselor at Fox Creek Junior High School. This position requires certification by the Arizona Department of Education. QUALIFICATIONS: Master’s Degree: Official transcripts documenting a master’s or more advanced degree from an accredited institution. Current Counselor certification with appropriate endorsements as set by the Arizona Department of Education. Positive recommendations from past employers and/or training institutions. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate. REPORTS TO: Principal Description: Provide counseling services for the school community in trauma-informed environment. Services provided include, but are not limited to: Providing counseling to students who have disciplinary problems Providing counseling to students with excessive absenteeism Provide short-term individual and small group counseling services to students Consult with teachers to schedule and present lessons to classrooms based on developmental needs and needs identified through data Consulting with teachers about building classroom relationships, effective classroom management, and the role of noncognitive factors in student success Advocating for students at IEP meetings, 504 meetings, and student intervention team meetings Analyze schoolwide and school counseling program data

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree: Official transcripts documenting a master’s or more advanced degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current Counselor certification with appropriate endorsements as set by the Arizona Department of Education.
  • Positive recommendations from past employers and/or training institutions.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate.
