About The Position
The School Counselor is responsible for providing counseling and guidance services to students within the school. The position aims to facilitate student achievement, stakeholder engagement, and continuous improvement within the school system. The counselor will work closely with staff and pupils to ensure a smooth transition for students moving from fifth grade to sixth grade and from eighth grade to ninth grade. They will provide individual counseling to students, helping them address their problems and make informed decisions regarding their educational, vocational, and social planning. The counselor will also evaluate students for ability or achievement grouping and refer those needing more intensive diagnosis to specialists and cooperating agencies.
