About The Position
The School Counselor position at Fox Run Elementary and Stahl Elementary is a full-time role focused on planning, implementing, and evaluating a comprehensive school counseling program tailored to the developmental needs of students. The counselor will work collaboratively with various school entities to ensure the success of all students, addressing their academic, career, personal, and social abilities. This role involves delivering guidance curriculum in various group sizes and educating students on skills necessary to navigate challenging circumstances. The counselor will also assist students in crisis situations and provide necessary resources to support their development. In this position, the counselor will guide individual students and groups, helping them to plan, monitor, and manage their educational and career development. This includes creating and reviewing personal graduation plans and providing information about post-secondary opportunities. The counselor will utilize accepted theories and effective techniques of developmental guidance to counsel students, teachers, and parents, offering preventive, remedial, and crisis counseling as needed. Maintaining a communication system to collect and disseminate information about students to other professionals is also a key responsibility. The counselor will advocate for a school environment that respects diversity and will be responsible for compiling and maintaining all necessary reports and records. Adherence to ethical, legal, and professional standards for school counselors is essential, as is compliance with district policies and regulations. The role may also require occasional driving of a personal vehicle for assigned tasks, and punctuality is expected every day.
