About The Position

Coordinates and conducts cultural, education, Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) events, presentations, coordinates the ordering of needed materials, equipment and activities, as well as research on culture, history, lifeways and STEM.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university; or six years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • At least two years experience in a related field.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to teach cultural activities. (For example, basket making, pinch pots, blow guns, corn husk dolls, etc.)
  • Archery experience required.
  • Employee must not and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG’s Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA’s List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG’s List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
  • The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
