About The Position

Monmouth Regional High School, a regional 9-12 school district comprising Tinton Falls, Eatontown, and Shrewsbury Township, is seeking a School Business Administrator/Board Secretary to oversee the day-to-day operations of our Business Office. This includes financial operations (payroll and agency, purchasing, budgeting, etc.), information technology, facilities, food services, and transportation. The successful candidate will also serve as the Secretary of the Board. Monmouth Regional High School is located in Tinton Falls New Jersey - a one school building, enrollment of approximately 887 students and a $30 million dollar budget. The role of School Business Administrator / Board Secretary is a crucial one, demanding high-level Business Administration skills with proven experience in Public School Administration. Proficiency in all aspects of managing the business office, including budget development, payroll processing, financial reporting, purchasing, contract negotiations, insurance, transportation, and food service, is essential to our operations.

Requirements

  • NJ School Business Administrator Certification is required.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • Qualified Purchasing Agent (QPA) certificate preferred.
  • Minimum of four years of experience as a Business Administrator or Assistant Business Administrator in a New Jersey Public School Business Office.
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in school budgetary control and financial reporting.
  • Experience with Genesis School Fi and Genesis Student software.
  • Competency in data processing applications including Excel and Google Sheets.
  • Ability to read, write and clearly communicate with staff.
  • Ability to think critically and problem-solve.
  • Must pass a criminal history background check and provide proof of US citizenship or resident alien status.
  • Comprehensive understanding of the duties of the Board Secretary pursuant to N.J.S.A. 18A:17-5et.seq.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Business Office.
  • Manage financial operations including payroll, purchasing, and budgeting.
  • Serve as the Secretary of the Board.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and accepted practices in school districts.
  • Prepare and submit payroll, state reports, and budget preparation.
  • Collaborate with school district leadership and staff.
  • Demonstrate leadership qualities and abilities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief School Administrator.
