About The Position

The School Bus Driver transports students for activities, such as sporting events, field trips, club events, and residential bus routes. Includes working a flexible schedule to support night and weekend activities. Performs numerous other assignments as specified by management.

Requirements

A High School Diploma or GED is required.
Valid Missouri Commercial Driver’s License with School Bus, Passenger, and Air Brake Endorsements required.
Must pass a physical examination and drug screening.
Requires ability to read and understand route instructions in written, oral, or diagrammatic form and identify material by label and written or computer listings.
Requires ability to operate bus and automotive equipment.
Requires ability to work collaboratively.
Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
Requires ability to operate common cleaning equipment.
Required to occasionally move objects weighing up to 50 pounds around the workspace.

Nice To Haves

A minimum of 1 year job-related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintains vehicle cleanliness.
Performs daily pre-trip inspection of assigned bus.
Reviews bus schedules.
Maintains order on the bus.
Fuels bus and checks oil and other fluid levels.
Submits conduct reports, when needed, to the appropriate administrator.
Notifies the Facility Services office of any delays which may lead to conflicts with other bus runs.
Notifies the Director of Facility Services of any mechanical or safety problems encountered with a bus.
Assists with other duties as assigned.
