About The Position

School Bus Driver Title: School Bus Driver Supervisor: Athletic Director Classification: Non-exempt-PT2 Description: To transport students to and from school and other sites within designated route(s) and to ensure the safety of the student passengers while in a school vehicle. Employees in this classification receive general supervision within a framework of standard policies and procedures. This job class is responsible for the safe operation of a school bus and for ensuring the safety of student passengers while meeting established bus schedules.

Requirements

• Demonstrates a passion for Christ and his Kingdom through personal spiritual discipline and public ministry.
• Seeks to grow in that relationship with Christ through personal spiritual discipline, education, accountability and service to his Kingdom.
• Possess a Commercial Driver License, Class A or B with (S) School Bus and/or (P) endorsement,
• Possess clean driving record
• Present official driving record report from DMV
• Demonstrates proficient knowledge of road and school van regulations
• Demonstrates effective verbal, listening and communications skills
• Demonstrates efficient time management skills
• Maintain CPR/First Aid/AED certification
• Negative TB screening performed within last 4 years
• Mandated Reporter Trainings (all that are required)

Responsibilities

• Operate the school bus or van in a safe and efficient way according to all relevant legislation, policies and procedures, including Rancho Christian School’s Van Policy
• Perform daily safety and maintenance checks
• Maintain order and discipline within bus/van while driving
• Work in conjunction with coach/teacher/supervising staff member to verify passenger attendance to and from each destination
• Ensure passengers are aware of rules and responsibilities
• Be on time to and from events, transporting on schedule
• Communicate immediately with designated person of any major delays,mechanical failure,accidents while operating bus/van
• Clean out van and ensure it is safely and securely stored
• Advise Maintenance team of any necessary maintenance or repairs
• Maintain vehicle logs as needs
• Actively and collaboratively participate as a member of the staff team
• Act quickly and exercise independent, mature judgment
• Perform other duties as assigned
