Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Must have had a valid US driver's license for 2+ years.
• Must possess a valid MN Commercial Driver's License (Class B or A) with School Bus and Passenger endorsements or be willing to obtain this license.
• Must pass an annual DOT physical exam.
• Must pass pre-employment drug testing and submit to random drug testing.
• Must pass a driving record check and a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Transport students safely between assigned stops and schools according to specified routes and time schedules.
• Provide excellent customer service to schools and families.
• Attend mandatory monthly safety meetings.
• Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of the vehicle.
• Keep a copy of the route schedule in the bus and adhere to it.
• Operate the school bus in accordance with route schedules and designated stops.
• Report all student injuries, accidents, and discipline problems to the appropriate authority.
• Instruct pupils in rider safety and practice emergency exit drills annually.
• Suggest safe and efficient routes, stops, and schedules to the Transportation Manager.
• Report misconduct of pupils on the bus or at waiting stations.
