About The Position

The School Based Therapist works with the Huntsville City and Madison County schools to ensure mental health care services and resources are available without barriers. What you'll be doing: Perform mental health counseling services in an In-School Counseling Program within the school systems. Perform crisis intervention and resolution as necessary. Perform assessments, intakes, transfers and discharges on clients. Manage client caseload to include follow up with clients & guardians. Assist school personnel and parents with community referral sources. Monitor clients' progress toward goals. Obtain release forms from parents, adhere to confidentiality standards. Document information per standards in electronic client chart, i.e. Treatment Plan, Progress Notes, referrals, etc. in a timely and accurate manner. Maintain billable service and productivity standards. Attend required trainings and staff meetings. Complete other duties as assigned. Requirements

  • Master’s in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field with an internship/practicum
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient documentation skills
  • Excellent organizational skills to include suspense/timeframe management

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with children/adolescents preferred
