About The Position

Are you passionate about supporting youth and families in your community? At Odyssey House, Utah’s leading 501(c)(3) non-profit for mental health and substance use treatment, we believe in transforming lives through compassion, connection, and care. Recognized as Utah’s best treatment center, we’re looking for a School-Based Therapist to make a real impact in schools across Salt Lake County. As a School-Based Therapist, you’ll provide direct mental health services year-round to High school students and their families who are navigating behavioral, emotional, or substance use challenges. You’ll collaborate with school staff to promote mental wellness, provide consultation support, and help build a healthier, more resilient school community. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, during school hours — with a later start two days a week to accommodate families. Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Requirements

  • Current Utah license: CSWi, CSW, LCSW, ACMHC, CMHC, MFTi, AMFT, or LMFT
  • Must pass a background check and be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Availability for 1–2 evenings per week to meet with families
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a team

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and family therapy, intake assessments, and crisis intervention as needed.
  • Conduct mental health assessments, treatment planning, and progress notes in a timely manner.
  • Maintain consistent communication with parents/guardians, school staff, and community partners.
  • Participate in referral calls, school-based marketing and outreach events.
  • Collaborate with Juvenile Court, DCFS, school counselors, and other agencies as needed.
  • Attend school and clinical team meetings regularly.
  • Provide thorough and timely documentation to support all services rendered.
  • Maintain strong professional relationships through effective communication.
  • Participate in approved professional development and trauma-informed care training.
  • Be proactive, organized, and reliable, with excellent follow-through and time management.
  • Must be able to work independently and collaboratively
  • Travel to schools or Odyssey House offices across the valley when needed.
