About The Position

As a School-Based Therapist in Nystrom & Associates Community Based division, you'll work in our CTSS (Children's Therapeutic Support Services) program. You will have the opportunity to implement high-quality, culturally-sensitive mental health services to children and adolescents in the school setting. We are looking for a compassionate individual who wants to make a meaningful difference in the lives of the clients we serve. Requirements

  • Meet the Clinical Trainee requirements per MN State Statute 245I.04.06
  • Has completed an accredited graduate program of study to prepare the staff person for independent licensure as a mental health professional
  • Meet the Mental Health Professional requirements per MN State Statue 245I.04.02
  • Licensed as a LICSW, LMFT, LPCC, or LP in Minnesota
  • Ability to work independently; Valid driver's license/auto insurance/reliable vehicle
  • Must be proficient in the use of computers, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel and the use of email

Responsibilities

  • Provide culturally responsive mental health skills to children, adolescents and their families in a school setting
  • Assist children, adolescents and their families in identifying goals for functional improvement and work with them to meet their goals
  • Design and implement treatment/intervention reflective of the child's needs
  • Work collaboratively with the school district, school personnel divisions, and other community-based agencies
  • Provide psychoeducation to school staff
  • Design and implement therapeutic groups for students
  • Receive clinical supervision from a qualified staff, and obtain continuing education units
