The Home for Little Wanderer's Wediko NY program is seeking a School-Based Senior Clinician at the William Paca School in East Harlem, NY. Job Summary The School-Based Senior Clinician at P.S. 155, The William Paca School, is responsible for providing clinical consultation and counseling services. The School-Based Clinician is responsible for direct services, including outreach and coordination, as well as all reporting needed for billing, evaluation and clinical purposes. The Clinician may clinically supervise assigned MSW and other graduate level interns, if Sifi certified. The School-Based Senior Clinician follows the NYC DOE school year calendar, is a full-time (40 hours per week) 10-month (September to June) position and is supervised by the Site Manager and Program Manager. Upon completion of the academic school year, and based on needs of the organization, the Senior School-Based Clinician may be moved to a different site the following school year. The salary is $55,000-$64,000. How You'll Be Making a Difference Supports school-based programming and planning of services. Provides direct school-based services, clinical consultation, crisis counseling, assessments and community-based resource referrals. Coordinates and provides individual and group counseling. Sits in on IEP, parent, and other school meetings for students on caseload, in effort to provide wrap-around services, with Site Manager and School Administrator’s approval. Completes weekly required documentation in a timely manner for billing, evaluation, and clinical purposes. Plans and facilitates milieu services in common spaces, such as classroom, cafeteria, and afterschool push-ins. Provides outreach to students and their families, including phone calls and written correspondence for students that are struggling in school. Serves as a Success Mentor, and provides attendance supports and interventions for students struggling with attendance. Completes weekly Success Mentoring logs. Facilitates communication between students, families, and school staff. Serves as part of school teams, such as Attendance, Counseling, and others, as identified by Site Manager. Attends and facilitates school meetings as requested. Provides staff professional development workshops, as identified by Site Manager, Program Manager, and / or school administrators. Develops and facilitates various student lead initiatives, such as Student Council and Mediators. Clinically supervises assigned social work intern(s) (if Sifi certified). Cultivates and maintains effective relationships with school and school administrators, and other Community Based Organizations. Tracks trends and remains current regarding developments in the areas of mental health, SEL, and education, especially how it relates to New York State. Represents Wediko NY in the field via presentations at panels, conferences, meetings, etc. Assist with program-wide Research and Evaluation projects by coordinating and administering assessment and evaluation tools. All functions and task responsibilities are subject to change, as deemed necessary by Site Manager and Program Manager based on needs of assigned site.
