About The Position

Adelphi is seeking Registered Nurses (RNs) to provide school-based nursing services for students across multiple programs, including Special Education, Early Childhood, Extended Learning Time, and Health Services. Nurses will deliver comprehensive care aligned with student health plans, educational needs, and district protocols.

Requirements

Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) license
Current CPR and First Aid certification
COVID-19 vaccination (as required)
Ability to pass required background checks
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Knowledge of IEPs, Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs), and school health regulations

Nice To Haves

Baccalaureate-prepared (for RN license)
Experience in school-based, pediatric, or special education settings

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain student health records and documentation
Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
Communicate with staff, parents, and healthcare providers regarding student health concerns
Apply the nursing process using a science-based approach to care delivery
Train staff in medication administration and first aid
Provide 1:1 or assigned nursing support throughout the school day (Special Education)
Assist with student safety, medical needs, and emergency response (Special Education)
Communicate health updates to school nurse and family (Special Education)
Conduct vision, hearing, dental, height, and weight screenings (Early Childhood)
Maintain immunization and physical exam records (Early Childhood)
Develop Individual Health Care Plans (IHCPs) (Early Childhood)
Participate in parent-teacher conferences (Early Childhood)
Provide after-school medical support and emergency care (Extended Learning Time)
Administer medications and monitor student health status (Extended Learning Time)
Support general student population across schools (Health Services)
Maintain health compliance records and screenings (Health Services)
Assist families with accessing medical and community resources (Health Services)
