About The Position

PRO Pediatric Services is seeking an exceptional School Psychiatrist to provide services at a local intermediate within an Outpatient Program. As a Pier Diem School Psychiatrist, you will collaborate with educators, parents, and other mental health professionals to promote the emotional well-being and academic success of students. Our school division, PRO Pediatric Services , supports students from Early Intervention age, up to grade 12 within school districts, charter schools, and intermediate units.

Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in psychiatry from an accredited institution.
  • Valid PA medical license to practice psychiatry.
  • Experience working with children and adolescents in a clinical or educational setting.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Must be comfortable using a computer
  • Must be able to complete documentation to school district standards
  • Current clearances (within 6 months)

Nice To Haves

  • Board certification or eligibility in child and adolescent psychiatry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations of students referred for mental health concerns.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans in collaboration with students, families, and school staff.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support to students experiencing acute mental health crises.
  • Offer consultation and guidance to teachers, administrators, and other school personnel on mental health-related issues.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss student progress and coordinate care.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential medical records in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Educate students, families, and staff about mental health topics and resources.
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and trends in child and adolescent psychiatry.
