About The Position

Adelphi is seeking LPNs to provide 1-on-1 school-based nursing support for students with severe disabilities at a school facility in Southeast Missouri. The nurses will deliver care in accordance with each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP) and Individual Health Plan (IHP). Requirements

  • Active Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in good standing in accordance with state regulations.
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric, school-based, or developmental disability experience preferred.
  • Must successfully complete:
  • Family Care Safety Registry (FCSR) screening
  • FBI fingerprint background check
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills in an educational environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct 1:1 nursing care to an assigned student throughout the school day and during transportation to and from home.
  • Deliver nursing services consistent with the student’s IEP and IHP, ensuring medical needs are met within the educational setting.
  • Ride the bus with the student daily and support continuity of care before, during, and after school hours.
  • Review student medical records and history to ensure informed care delivery.
  • Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and respond to health needs and emergencies.
  • Collaborate with classroom staff and personnel to support student health and IEP goals.
  • Participate in consultations and assist with demonstrating care techniques to staff as needed.
  • Complete required documentation, including service logs, progress notes, and reporting in designated systems.
  • Attend trainings, meetings, and orientation sessions as required by the program.
  • Support continuity of care by ensuring coverage during absences as required.
  • Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA, FERPA, and mandated reporting laws.
  • Follow all school policies, including strict adherence to abuse prevention and reporting protocols.
  • Perform all duties on-site; telehealth or remote services are not permitted.
