About The Position
Adelphi is seeking Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs) to support school-based health services under the supervision of Registered Nurses and school administration. LPNs will assist in delivering direct care, monitoring student health, and supporting safe school environments.
Requirements
- Active New Jersey Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
- Current CPR and First Aid certification
- COVID-19 vaccination (as required)
- Ability to work under supervision of an RN
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to pass required background checks
Nice To Haves
- Experience in pediatric, school, or community health settings preferred
Responsibilities
- Assist in monitoring student health conditions and records
- Administer medications and basic treatments as directed
- Report health concerns to supervising RN or school nurse
- Support documentation and communication with staff and families
- Provide direct support to students with medical needs
- Assist with daily care and monitoring of health conditions
- Support safe participation in school activities
- Assist with health screenings and record maintenance
- Support RN in tracking immunizations and physical exams
- Help communicate health needs to parents and staff
- Provide basic medical care during after-school programs
- Respond to minor injuries and health concerns
- Support school nurse with routine health services and screenings
- Assist in maintaining compliance with health documentation requirements
