As a School Based Clinician, you will be responsible for the coordination and delivery of clinical services within our behavioral health school located in West Chester, PA. You will demonstrate the ability to work in collaboration with district personnel to provide clinical services to identified populations. You will demonstrate the skills, knowledge, and ability to understand, implement, as well as impact regulatory guidelines and professional standards. You will also provide prevention, case management and consultation services to individuals in schools. All services are family focused and are provided in the school settings. A multi-sensory educational strategy is used at all schools, employing traditional instruction, hands-on and independent learning, as well as technology, to individualize a student’s progress in all academic areas, particularly math and reading. The goal of our Approved Private Schools is to create individualized educational opportunities that enable each student to live as a positive, healthy and socially-connected individual in his or her community. Devereux Pennsylvania Children’s Services (DPACS) center serves children, adolescents and young adults with autism spectrum disorders, intellectual and developmental disabilities, behavioral, emotional and psychiatric challenges and disorders. Located in West Chester and Malvern Pennsylvania, services provided include psychiatric residential treatment (PRTF), acute inpatient psychiatric hospital (AIP), assessment services, community-based mental health services, community-based employment training and social skills training, and approved private school educational services to male and female children and adolescents (6-21 years of age) with diagnoses of intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, concomitant psychiatric and behavioral challenges often associated with experiencing some level of trauma in their lives. A primary focus throughout the program is the philosophy of Program-Wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PW-PBIS), a program-wide system of care that promotes and rewards positive behaviors, and prevents negative behaviors, to create safe, supportive living environments. Each year, more than 1,000 children and adolescents receive specialized care, in the environment best suited to the unique challenges they face, all with the goal of providing each child with the academic, social, emotional and life skills needed to flourish in their home community.
