About The Position

Dragonfly Cares is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) to join our school-based team to support children with autism and developmental disabilities. This role is ideal for BCBAs who want meaningful school-based work, stability, and work-life balance. There is the option to pick up additional cases if desired throughout Long Island after school hours. WHAT YOU'LL DO

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in ABA, or related field
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst/LBA required or in process
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Minimum 1 year of experience working with individuals with autism or developmental disabilities in school setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of behavior intervention strategies and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) principles
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and also in a collaborative environment
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with ABA-based therapy platforms and electronic data collection tools
  • Fluency in additional languages beyond English and Spanish

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) for students with behavioral and developmental needs.
  • Provide direct and consultative behavioral services to students within school settings.
  • Train, coach, and support teachers, paraprofessionals, and school staff in implementing behavior intervention strategies and evidence-based practices.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret student behavioral data to monitor progress and guide treatment decisions.
  • Ensure treatment fidelity and provide ongoing feedback to school staff implementing behavioral interventions.
  • Collaborate with special education teams, school psychologists, administrators, and related service providers to support student success.
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute behavioral expertise to student educational planning.
  • Develop individualized goals and monitor student progress toward behavioral and social skill objectives.
  • Provide crisis management strategies and behavior support when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and compliance with school district, state, and BACB standards.
  • Support the development of positive behavior support systems within classrooms and school environments.
  • Provide staff professional development or workshops on behavior management.
  • Supervise RBTs or behavior technicians when assigned.
