About The Position

The School-Based Behavioral Health (SBBH) Supervisor provides clinical and administrative leadership to School-Based Behavioral Health Therapists (SBBHT) while also delivering direct services, including intakes, diagnostic evaluations, psychotherapy, case management, and psychoeducation for students, families, and school staff. The Supervisor partners with the Pediatric Behavioral Health Director to review program data, coordinate outreach, and ensure high‑quality, client‑centered care. This role collaborates with internal and external providers to support effective service delivery, meet program goals, and maintain organizational standards. The Supervisor also works with site leadership to ensure smooth operations and uphold the organization’s mission and values. Flexibility in scheduling and travel to assigned schools is required.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling or social work.
  • LISW-S or LPCC-S licensure in the state of Ohio.
  • Demonstrated leadership of high-performing teams in a community behavioral health setting.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership, coordination, and oversight of SBBHT staff, ensuring adherence to professional, clinical, and ethical standards.
  • Conduct clinical assessments and deliver direct treatment, psychoeducation, and support services to clients, families, and school personnel.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload and meet departmental expectations for documentation and productivity.
  • Monitor program performance through data review, documentation audits, and system reports; implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure timely, appropriate, and efficient service delivery, coordinating care within the organization and with community partners.
  • Collaborate with the Pediatric Behavioral Health Director and VP of Pediatric Behavioral Health Integration to track and report program outcomes.
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations, including staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage and productivity.
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervision to SBBHT staff, supporting skill development, caseload management, and productivity.
  • Train, orient, and mentor new and existing team members, fostering growth toward self-reliance and high performance.
  • Utilize the SLII model to tailor leadership approaches, delegate responsibilities, and promote accountability.
  • Deliver ongoing performance feedback, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Lead regular team meetings and maintain transparent communication across the department.
  • Work with internal departments and community providers to develop a continuum of services that supports client success.
  • Partner with Human Resources and the Pediatric Behavioral Health Director to recruit, interview, hire, and onboard staff.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, service plans, Ohio Department of Mental Health (ODMH) rules, and all applicable laws and standards.
  • Promote a culture of teamwork, unity, constructive conflict resolution, and appreciation of diversity.
  • Participate in standing, functional, and ad hoc committees.
  • Provide supervisory coverage during temporary absences of other leaders.
  • Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned.
