About The Position

School-Based Behavior Technician (RBT / BT) - Paid Coverage Role Location: East Meadow, NY Compensation: $23.00 - $26.00 per hour (based on experience and certification) On-Call Pay: $17.00 per hour (6:00 AM - 9:00 AM, Monday-Friday) Job Type: Part-Time or Full-Time | School-Day Coverage Position Schedule: Monday-Friday | Paid On-Call mornings; if called, you'll work a full school day Work Setting: School-based (elementary, middle, and high school environments) About Dragonfly Cares At Dragonfly Cares, we help children with autism and developmental differences thrive in school settings through individualized, classroom-based ABA services. Our programs focus on building academic, social, and behavioral skills where students learn best - right in their school environment. We partner with school districts throughout Long Island to provide dedicated RBTs and Behavior Technicians. We're currently looking for reliable coverage staff available weekday mornings to fill in for team members as needed - ensuring that students continue to receive consistent, high-quality support every day.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field (preferred)
  • Must be available between 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM for potential coverage assignments
  • Previous school-based or special education experience (required)
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Consistent weekday reliability and access to dependable transportation to East Meadow.

Nice To Haves

  • RBT certification preferred
  • Minimum of 2 years of ABA experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Be available on-call Monday-Friday between 6:00-9:00 AM to accept same-day school assignments.
  • Provide 1:1 ABA and behavioral support under BCBA supervision during full school days.
  • Follow individualized behavior intervention and support plans.
  • Collect accurate data on behavior and skill progress.
  • Communicate and collaborate with teachers, clinical supervisors, and school staff.
  • Maintain detailed and professional documentation per school and agency standards.
  • Participate in supervision, team meetings, and ongoing training.
