They must show an ability to: Respond to the children with warmth, compassion and the respect awarded them as cherished members of our community Step into any classroom to cover other staff who are absent with a general knowledge of early childhood care skills such as diapering, toileting, bottle and solid food feeding, and naps, within a Montessori setting Respect the lead guides of each classroom in a cooperative manner while serving in their classrooms, following their procedures and routines Provide break or prep coverage for all staff for lunch, meetings, or lesson planning by stepping into each classroom as necessary while carrying out classroom schedules and activities as instructed. Special event planning setup, support, and restoring the environment afterward Meticulously maintain the staff break and prep areas including maintaining inventory lists of food and beverage supplies, art and classroom supplies, adding to weekly shopping lists as needed, and sometimes performing weekly shopping runs. Available Roles & Schedules 1. School Assistant (Part-Time or Full-Time) Focus: A "Float" type position with varying tasks centered on classroom support and facility operations. Schedule: Within school hours of 7:30 am – 5:00 pm (based on availability). 2. Aftercare Teacher (Part-Time) Focus: Leading engaging afternoon activities and maintaining a safe environment for children ages two through six. Schedule: 2:30 pm – 5:00 pm, Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

Physical: Ability to lift up to 40 lbs, sit on the floor, and participate in outdoor activities (including snow shoveling).
Credentials: Must pass a background check and provide Tdap/MMR immunization records.
Training: Current CPR/First Aid and Montana health/safety training (or ability to obtain within 30 days).
Qualities: A growth mindset, integrity, and a passion for early childhood excellence.

Responsibilities

Classroom Assistance: Providing break/prep coverage for classroom teachers and supporting student needs.
Facility Care: Maintaining a clean, beautiful environment through general cleaning, laundry, sanitizing, and outdoor seasonal maintenance.
Supervising children during late afternoon transitions and outdoor play.
Maintaining a consistent, calm routine for students.
Communicating briefly with parents during pickup.
