Position Summary To assist the School Director in the operations of the before and after care program, so that values are upheld, and the children are provided with a safe and learning environment. To provide support and direction to the teacher assistant.

Requirements

Clean MVR Required.
The ideal candidate will have an AA or bachelor’s degree (or credit equivalent) in Elementary Education, Psychology, Child Development, Family Studies, or a similar discipline, OR the 45 clock hours Child Development, birth through school-age, and the 45 clock hours Curriculum for School Age Care
The ideal candidate will have the 9 clock hours of training in communicating with staff, parents, and the public, and an Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) training certificate.
Candidates are required to have 400 hours of experience working with school-age children in a professional environment.

Responsibilities

Split Shift Role: 6:30 A.M. - 10:30 A.M., 1:30 P.M. - 6:30 P.M.
Manages the program space, ensuring compliance with all MSDE-OCC regulations, company standards, policies, and procedures.
Provides a welcoming and friendly environment for all children, parents, and visitors.
Implements activities that are age-appropriate and stimulating by the provided JMS - Celebree School curriculum; manages effective classroom management.
Assists and supervises children during all activities; counsels children as needed using Conscious Discipline and appropriate behavior management techniques.
Communicates effectively with parents, e.g., greeting by name, addressing concerns promptly, giving positive feedback, and providing regular updates on program happenings.
Maintains open and effective communication with the team, parents, and the school community.
Ensures that the appearance, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom environment are appropriately maintained.
Identifies opportunities and/or problems in the program and works with the other team members to resolve them.
Maintains yearly certification requirements, including Continuing Education Credits.
Transportation for children's pick-up and drop-offs required.
Clean MVR Required.
Medication Administration certification may be needed.
