About The Position

The School Age Teacher Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the learning and development of children by providing individualized care and facilitating engaging educational experiences. This position involves assisting in the implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum activities, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring a safe and nurturing environment for children. The Assistant Teacher works closely with the Site Supervisor and other staff to promote the mission and values of the organization.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Preferred).
• 1 year of experience in child care (Preferred).
• 6 ECD units (Preferred).
• Knowledge of Title 5/22 Regulations and principles of child development.
• Ability to effectively implement regulations, guidelines, and curriculum.
• Strong communication skills with regulatory agents, parents, and staff.
• Basic clerical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in nurturing and facilitating the learning experience for children.
• Interact daily with each child to support their learning process.
• Implement a positive approach combining consistency, empathy, and culturally diverse practices.
• Provide direct support and resources to enhance children's play and learning experiences.
• Assist in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum activities.
• Maintain accurate updates of records including enrollment, attendance, and communication logs.
• Ensure compliance with documentation deadlines for various assessments and plans.
• Monitor and maintain a safe, secure, and clean environment for children and staff.
• Assist in conducting monthly fire drills and other safety drills.
• Report safety hazards and injuries to the Teacher immediately.
• Support the Site Supervisor in meeting licensing and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality of children, families, and employees.
