About The Position

As an School Age Child Care Group Supervisor expected to assist in the implementation of daily program activities, ensure a safe environment and age-appropriate activities, and engage and participate in all activities with the program youth. Always maintain the safety of the youth.

Requirements

• Associates degree from an accredited college or university in early childhood education, child development, special education, elementary education, or human services.
• Two years of experience with children.
• Exhibit strong leadership skills.
• Possess a passion for member service, building and maintaining a culture of member service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Planning of the curriculum.
• Prepare and implement daily age/developmentally appropriate activities.
• Oversee the safety and location of all the youth in your group.
• Actively participate with the youth in all activities.
• Ensure proper clean up and maintenance of all materials.
• Maintain sensitivity and patience with youth and parents.
• Always maintain confidentiality.
• Notify the site director of any personal or programmatic problems and suggestions.
• Maintain paperwork (curriculum, lesson plans, parent communication, and incident reports).
• Attend all necessary YMCA/DPW/DHS/OST trainings.
• Attend Staff Meetings/Team Teaching Meetings/Back to School Nights.
• Participate as a YMCA team member and contribute to the attainment of the YMCA mission.
• Know the mission and be able to apply it to your job responsibilities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
