About The Position
The position involves serving as an advocate for children and adolescents with special needs, providing direct services to students and their families in both one-on-one and group settings. The role requires assisting school personnel in creating a more responsive and therapeutic environment for students, as well as consulting on programs aimed at preventing, detecting, and resolving emotional and educational difficulties. Additionally, the position acts as a liaison between the school and the community, promoting awareness of the needs of children and adolescents and organizing activities that foster healthy growth. The role also includes helping parents and family members leverage their strengths to resolve conflicts and access community resources. Furthermore, the position involves conducting social research, attending training programs, and serving as the C.E.T. Chairperson, liaising with all special needs services.
