About The Position

The Scheduling Specialist role at Avicado offers the opportunity to drive impact in high-performance, client-facing environments. You will create detailed project schedules during planning and design phases, incorporating critical elements such as design milestones, permitting timelines, and long-lead procurement. You will establish and maintain baseline schedules that align with the delivery strategy, including phased commissioning and fast-track execution models. You will perform schedule risk assessments to identify delays along the critical path and propose mitigation strategies, while collaborating closely with design, cost, and procurement teams to ensure realistic integration of timelines and resource dependencies. You will maintain live project schedules throughout execution, track and analyze critical activities, and develop commissioning plans in alignment with system turnovers. Additionally, you will leverage existing tools to drive schedule efficiency and lead Quarterly Business Reviews with clients to review scheduling performance and realign goals.

Requirements

  • Advanced proficiency in scheduling software, particularly MS Project.
  • Mastery of schedule development including work breakdown structures, logic sequencing, resource loading, and schedule baselining.
  • 5+ years of data center construction scheduling and/or project management expertise.
  • Familiarity with phased delivery models and early equipment procurement.
  • Knowledge of how scheduling interfaces with cost, procurement, risk, and change management systems.
  • Ability to develop integrated schedules and maintain alignment across multiple trades and stakeholders.
  • Strategic thinking to identify risk scenarios and assess mitigation options.
  • Ability to interface effectively with design teams, contractors, and other project stakeholders.
  • Facilitation skills to lead schedule review meetings and coordination sessions.
  • Hands-on understanding of field construction activities and constraints.
  • Flexibility to dynamically update and re-sequence schedules.
  • High attention to detail, especially in meeting client-specific requirements.
  • A proactive, self-starting mindset with a high degree of ownership and accountability.
