About The Position

Phoenix Paper Wickliffe LLC is searching for qualified candidates to assume the role of Scheduling Specialist. Summary/Objective The Scheduling Specialist (Trimmer) is responsible for scheduling paper production to optimize trim yield, manufacturing efficiency, customer delivery performance, and inventory management. This role balances customer orders and inventory requirements while maintaining accurate and efficient production schedules. The position reports directly to the Planning & Scheduling Manager and plays a critical role in supporting mill-wide production and customer commitments. Key responsibilities of the Trimmer include, but are not limited to, the following: Trim and schedule finishing rewinders using customer and stock orders to maintain a workable backlog while optimizing trim yield, manufacturing efficiency and on-time, in full delivery. Serve as a trained backup trimmer for the paper machine, as needed. Monitor inventory levels and apply overruns or available stock to offset production and manage inventory. Collaborate with facility management and the sales team to meet production requirements while maintaining customer service commitments. Maintain accurate production schedules in SAP and Optivision for mill-wide visibility. Partner with the Planning & Scheduling Manager to ensure schedule accuracy and master data integrity. Re-trim production runs as needed due to order changes, cancellations, or customer requests. Develop strong working knowledge of machine grades, basis weights, and production requirements. Support quoting, planning, and trimming of customer orders from production and warehouse inventory. Available for on-call support related to trimming or scheduling issues, as needed. Work closely with the Logistics team to support on-time delivery. Identify and recommend opportunities to improve departmental or organizational productivity. Prepare daily reports on open orders, ready shipments, and other assigned metrics. Attend daily production and machine meetings as required. Follow all company safety and security policies. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or 3 (three) years related experience and/or training in Scheduling/Planning; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 1-3 years of related Scheduling/Planning experience, preferably in a manufacturing or pulp and paper environment.
  • Working knowledge of SAP (required)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office; with strong Excel skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • High level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
  • Task-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
