The Laurels of Charlottesville is seeking a Full-Time Scheduling Coordinator for our premiere 120 bed sub-acute rehab/skilled nursing facility. We're seeking an experienced individual with a great attitude and a willingness to step in to support the nursing department in times of need. Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant with a current certification or current Licensed Practical Nurse.

  • Fulfilling staffing vacancies in advance to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts
  • Keeping meticulous attendance records and assisting with the progressive disciplinary process if staff members accrue excessive absences and/or tardiness.
  • Communicating with Unit Managers, ADON, and the Director of Nursing regarding floor orientation, training and scheduling for newly hired employees.
  • Informs the supervisor(s) of last minute shift changes ensuring proper shift coverage.
  • Checking time clock punch records against master schedules and noting the appropriate changes.
  • Filling time correction forms for events such as missing meal periods or forgetting to clock in/out.
  • Assists in recruiting, screening, testing, interviewing and orienting prospective employees.
  • Utilizing computer software to prepare, change and update the master schedule.
  • Participates in Facility Management meetings as required.
  • Develop staff and promote a supportive team environment.
  • Develop work schedules by allocating employees in shifts and positions.
  • Assume responsibility for timekeeping and time off requests.
  • Collaborate with payroll to ensure correct employee compensation.
  • Ensure compliance with internal and external policies and regulations.
  • Prepare and submit reports on staffing operations.
  • Must have the ability to think outside the box when resolving problems / issues.
  • Prior experience as staffing coordinator or similar position required.
  • Experience working with computer systems and software.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook is required.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Excellent time management & prioritization skills required.
