The Scheduling Coordinator at Chicago Tube and Iron Company plays a crucial role in managing and coordinating jobs for the Fabrication Branches. This position involves scheduling jobs, reviewing material requirements, and effectively communicating issues and solutions to ensure smooth operations within the company.

  • Review job packets for Fabrication Branches
  • Release jobs for production
  • Review material status for jobs
  • Modify jobs and schedule according to material availability and priority
  • Communicate status of jobs to appropriate sales rep
  • Coordinate expedited shipments
  • Review completed jobs
  • Make changes to customer orders in the system
  • Make inventory adjustments in the system
  • Responsible for invoicing, receivables and some purchasing
  • Answer phones
  • File paperwork; set up and maintain files
  • A high school education is required
  • Some college coursework is highly recommended
  • A minimum of 2 years' experience in manufacturing with a solid understanding of job planning/scheduling
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Good typing/keyboarding skills
  • Math skills are required
  • Experience with MRP/ERP software packages is a plus
