About The Position

Menorah Medical Center is seeking a Scheduling Coordinator PRN to assist the Outpatient Rehab staff with clerical duties and scheduling of outpatient cases. The role involves routine contacts with patients, physicians, hospital staff, outside health agencies, and the community. The Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for ensuring the schedule runs smoothly, verifying and entering patient data into the computerized scheduling and billing system, obtaining insurance referrals and authorizations, collecting patient co-payments, and generating patient receipts. The position also includes running daily and monthly Meditech reports and coordinating quarterly office meetings with physician office staff. This role provides care to a diverse patient population, including pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate / GED.
  • Five years of clerical and computer experience, including medical terminology.
  • Excellent customer service and attention to detail.
  • Good telephone and communication skills.

  • Previous experience scheduling and obtaining insurance authorizations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Outpatient Rehab staff with clerical duties and scheduling of outpatient cases.
  • Ensure the schedule runs smoothly and address scheduling issues.
  • Verify and enter patient demographics and insurance information into the computerized scheduling and billing system.
  • Obtain insurance referrals and authorizations prior to patient appointments.
  • Collect patient co-payments and generate patient receipts.
  • Accurately transcribe physician orders and complete the admission medical record process.
  • Run daily and monthly Meditech reports and any requested reports.
  • Coordinate quarterly office meetings with physician office staff and follow up on action items.
