About The Position

CentraState Medical Center's Cardiovascular Interventional suite offers the complete integration of leading-edge imaging and technology to diagnose and treat patients with cardiovascular disease and other conditions using minimally invasive alternatives to surgical procedures. Our ‘Suite” team consists of expert Radiologists, Vascular Surgeons, Electrophysiologists, Interventional Cardiologists, Radiology technologists and Registered Nurses collaborating to provide innovative personalized care to our community. The Cardiovascular Interventional Suite is currently seeking a Scheduling Coordinator. Responsibilities include registering and scheduling patients in alignment with established procedures, conducting pre-screenings to determine financial responsibilities, securing legal consents and insurance details, and assigning patient rooms based on defined criteria. Additional duties involve verifying insurance coverage, coordinating with Outcomes Managers, and obtaining pre-certification authorizations as necessary. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Hospital experience in registration preferred.
  • Hospital experience in billing preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Strong comprehension of Medical terminology and CPT code procedural classification.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately schedules appointments for outpatient infusion in Beacon. Obtains all information required and documents confirmation information in Epic Beacon System.
  • Clearly documents in computer system all special needs and requirements of case. Completes registration and patient check in for all patient appointments.
  • Obtains needed authorizations and patient referrals from referring physicians prior to scheduling patient appointment.
  • Communicates intra-departmental needs for outpatient infusion appointments and documents confirmation information for appointment.
  • Sends automated appointment reminder the day before the appointment.
  • Handles departmental paperwork flow in a manner consistent with departmental policies and procedures. Works assigned EPIC work queues for referrals and authorizations and scheduling of appointments in EPIC.
  • Reviews scheduled procedures for next day’s schedule for accuracy and completeness.
