PURPOSE AND ROLE: The purpose of the Scheduling Assistant is to assist the Production Scheduler with daily administrative tasks and record keeping. The Scheduling Assistant will serve as a backup of the Production scheduler in performing planning and scheduling operations, as well as monitoring inventory levels to meet customer demands.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 1 year of related administrative experience
  • Proficient in SAP MRP System or another similar ERP system required
  • Multi-dimensional skills regarding current planning and expanding to anticipate future needs of the organization
  • Good Organizational skills
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills
  • Ability to make good decisions using sound judgement within a short timeframe
  • Good computer skills including SAP and Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, Powerpoint and Outlook.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Able to perform all essential Production Scheduler responsibilities
  • Assists in managing SAP MRP program to determine orders that need to be produced
  • Creates work orders in SAP for Purchasing to order raw materials
  • Assist in maintaining daily and monthly production reports
  • Confirms receipt of raw materials for production schedule and if not in stock follows up with purchasing for delivery date
  • Communicates order fulfillment to Customer Service and Sales
  • Works with Blending Department to ensure blends are timely to align with production schedule and bulk orders
  • Works with Production Manager and/or Supervisor on priority of work orders
  • Ensures labels for production are printed to distribute with work orders
  • Prints and prepares production order packets
  • Files completed production orders.
  • Audits completed production order packets for completeness.
  • Prints bulk order BOL’s and requisite paperwork
  • Must comply with all plant safety guidelines
  • Additional duties as assigned
