As a Scheduling and Pre-Registration Representative, you will provide a comprehensive set of business, financial and appointment-related services during the pre-access process or before patients present for services. In this position, you will be cross trained to staff all areas of the department and potentially rotate to different locations/hospitals based on needs. A caregiver in this position works from 9:30AM - 6:00PM.

  • Perform preregistration for diagnostic testing and surgeries by contacting the patient via phone and completing an accurate interview to obtain demographic, insurance, medical and financial information.
  • Cross train to staff all areas of the department.
  • Utilize estimator tool to provide patient with estimate of out of pocket expenses for services prior to date of service.
  • Provide patient contact via outbound and inbound calls.
  • Function as a Super User.
  • Act as a resource for training of new team members and during the implementation of new processes.
  • Provide scheduling, registration and cash collection access in Epic.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in a customer-facing role with in-person or phone contact OR Associate's Degree and one year of experience OR Bachelor's Degree
  • Basic PC software application knowledge and ability to use multiple data systems
  • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology sufficient to understand physician orders or completion of course within one year of hire.
