About The Position

The School of Music is seeking a Scheduling Analyst to provide scheduling, administrative, and analytical support for faculty, students, and leadership. Reporting to the Director of Resources and Operations and working under the direction of the Department Chair, the Scheduling Analyst plays a key role in course scheduling, temporary faculty appointments, and student success initiatives. This position requires strong attention to detail, the ability to analyze data, and excellent communication skills to support academic operations in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree and/or equivalent training
  • Administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Music or Arts management
  • Four (4) years' experience in administrative work analyzing and coordinating complex activities, projects and documents associated with multifaceted programs. Administrative work, preferably in an academic setting
  • Experience with software applications such as MS Office for composing memos, letters and other public correspondence and competency in developing and analyzing spreadsheets and or data using tools such as Excel, Google sheets or FileMakerPro
  • Experience with Google Apps to support collaborative work assignments
  • Experience working with tools based on PeopleSoft, Oracle, SAP or similar enterprise database systems
  • Experience establishing and maintaining cooperative working relationships within a diverse multicultural environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain effective class schedules, ensuring alignment with curriculum requirements and student success goals
  • Coordinate course scheduling, classroom assignments, and faculty teaching loads; process schedule changes and corrections in the University's system
  • Support temporary faculty appointments, including processing appointment papers, salary coordination, and maintaining personnel records
  • Compile and analyze data related to enrollment planning, faculty workload, and budget alignment
  • Assist with faculty recruitment scheduling and documentation
  • Maintain databases on faculty assignments, ensuring compliance with university and collective bargaining requirements
  • Provide administrative support to the Director's office and coordinate day-to-day office operations
  • Support student success by tracking retention, graduation, and other student progress metrics
  • Assist with outreach, alumni engagement, and coordination of music school activities
