In this position you will answer all incoming calls, direct calls, schedule patient appointments and confirm appointments, excluding Family Planning. After successful training, this role may be eligible for remote status. Responsibilities (How this position enhances our Mission, Vision, and Values) Mission – Improve the Quality of Life of Others: Answer and route calls using multiple telephone line system Data entry of new patient’s demographic and third-party payer information. Build and maintain providers schedules in the EMR. With guidance from the Director of Clinical Information and Practice Manager. Vision – ODHS preferred partner in East Central Indiana for improving the well-being of individuals and the communities in which they live: Schedule appointments for new and returning patients for all health-related providers, excluding Family Planning and WIC. Confirm with the patient the time of their appointments daily. Reschedule patient appointments when the provider schedule changes. Values – Esteem the Team, Maximize Potential, Do the Right Thing, Choose Compassion, Encourage Uniqueness: Follow Medicaid and other insurance assignments when scheduling appointments. Keep manager informed of potential scheduling problems. Work within EMR, sending phone notes to nurses regarding patient issues. Maintain patient confidentiality and privacy of protected health information. Other duties as assigned. About you: Exceptional telephone etiquette. Great communication skills and ability to work closely with others. Able to provide excellent customer service, internally and externally. Able to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations. Exceptional computer skills. Good planning and organizational skills. Good problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Can work under pressure and meet deadlines. Able to work unsupervised. Physical and Environmental Requirements: Requires standing, walking or sitting for long periods of time. Occasional bending, stretching. Requires the ability to work under stressful situations. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range or use of approved adaptive equipment. Education and Experience: High School diploma or GED equivalency preferred. Telephone and contact center experience necessary. Medical office experience is a plus.
