About The Position

As a Scheduler, you take charge of a complex process of coordinating patients' and providers' schedules, aligning hospital facilities, and getting insurance authorizations. Maintaining appointment schedules, reschedules, cancellations and reminders and communicating with hospital departments and physician offices regarding schedule changes, you're a difference maker turning every patient's experience into an extraordinary moment. Your Everyday Schedule patient appointments Coordinate with physicians, nurses, schedules patient visits and appointments. Guide patients regarding basic queries regarding the appointments, assist with rescheduling and follow ups as necessary. Schedule surgery procedures using the preferred EMR scheduling block system. Gather basic information relative to scheduled patients. Understand inventory supplies and surgical procedures. Answer the phone in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain constant and courteous telecommunications with surgeons, nurse coordinators and secretaries. Maintain and promote good working relationships within the hospital and within the department. Escalate issues to appropriate supervisor. Complete daily surgical schedule and distributes as appropriate . Scan in surgery/PACU/SPD logs to appropriate file.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED and one year of experience in a physician's office or surgery scheduling .
  • 3 years of experience in lieu of education
