About The Position

The Planning Scheduler is a crucial role responsible for the efficient and effective scheduling of production activities within our facilities. This individual will create and manage a detailed production schedule, ensuring that all customer orders are met on time while optimizing downtime, and maintaining a high level of product quality. The candidate will have a string understanding of manufacturing processes, excellent analytical skills, and a proactive approach to problem solving. DESCRIPTION · Ensure compliance with Safety, Food Safety, Quality, and Good Housekeeping practices in all activities. · Develop and maintain a comprehensive production schedule for all manufacturing lines. · Utilize Radius system to plan production based on customer orders, sales forecasts, inventory levels, and available capacity. · Monitor and adjust the schedule in real-time to accommodate unexpected delays, equipment failures, or changes in customer demand. · Balance production runs to minimize changeover times and maximize machine efficiency. · Work with Production Manager to plan for future capacity needs. · Monitor finished goods inventory levels to prevent stock outs and overstocking. · Communicate with the sales team to provide accurate lead times and delivery dates. · Conduct other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • Ability to create and manage detailed production schedules in a high-volume, multi-line manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex data and identify potential issues before they impact production.
  • Strong Radius skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively liaise between departments.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis tools, Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to work under stress when faced with production delays, urgent request, or competing priorities.
  • Dependable and Punctual.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a production planning, scheduling, or similar role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to use Radius systems for various functions beyond just creating a schedule.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven experience in the plastics or packaging manufacturing industry is a strong advantage.
